Every August, I pick a challenge that scares me a little. This year it's 300 miles on the bike β one month, one wheel-turn at a time β for the American Cancer Society.
Cancer has touched nearly everyone I love in some way, and riding is how I turn that into something useful. Every mile I climb is a small down payment on research, rides to treatment, and a free bed for a family far from home. I can't do the hard part. But I can pedal, and I can ask.
βI can't cure it. But I can ride β and I can ask you to come with me.β
